what it means to be an eagle...

scouts would often try to achieve the rank of an eagle scout because of
the prestige that they think that comes with the rank. others would try
to launder their achievements that they accomplished while gaining the
rank.

Frankly speaking when you have reached the top and perched above the rank system you will suddenly realize that no matter how high
you climb you will discover the great blue sky, you will be HUMBLED at
this revelation that in the end you have the wings to fly and explore
this great new horizon. True that pride, ambition and passion will get
you up there but it is in teaching others how to reach what you have
reached as well is the most gratifying feeling. it is not on reaching
the sky that is the greatest achievement of an eagle but when he fosters
another scout and helps that youngling gain his wings to fly that will
mark his greatest achievement of an eagle.

gaining your wings should no stop you from continuing your journey spread your wings! fly!
search for that youngling to train and pass on what you yourself have
gained!

Honor GOD train Leaders! a true leader is someone who trains other leaders in his wake, each
leader he trains will be greater than him. that is his mark! the mark of
a true eagle scout!

an eagle scout is simply a scout who gains wings. yet he is still a SCOUT bound by honor to the oath and law that all
scouts take.
