A Message was spread in all electronic means with our effort to influence 10000 members of ScoutsJB, it means 10000 households messages as a step of preserving Mother Nature.
Analysis:
Based on the feedback of our members and we calculated about 30% of
ScoutsJB members participated in this worldwide event. It means we
managed to influence 3000 household.
Average Household bill in JB : RM100
Average Usage of energy Per Month: (Bill Amount/RM0.23) 1kW/h = 434800kW
Daily Usage: 14493kW of daily used energy
Per Hour Usage: 604Watt (average)
That means our message went and saved 1812000Watt / 1812kilo Watt / 1.812 MegaWatt. (604Watt x
3000 household)
The cost of electicity demand that ScoutsJB Member saved during the Earth Hour 2010:
1812kW/hour x RM0.23 = RM416.70
WE (ScoutsJB’rians) HELPED THE MOTHER EARTH (equivalents)
- by reducing 0.72 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emission during the hour
- its a job of 32 full grown Tropical Tree in a year to process carbon sequestration (average 50pounds of CO2 sequestered by a tree in a year)
- if we planted 32 trees yesterday, it will take 4 years to do this job from seed.(approx)
