first outing as the head troop leader

In July, our troop was given 20 tickets to a baseball game. Akron Aero's which is the Cleveland Indian's farm team. The Akron Aero's play only 30 minutes on a good traffic day from our meeting place. One of our parents signed us up for a chance for tickets. We was lucky enough to be blessed with tickets. I had thought that the former leader had taken care of all the calling of the girls. She informed me that no she was moving. So less then a week before the event I was taking care of that. And trying to find tents. Our troop does not tents of our own. I called around to parents and found 3 tents. Not enough for all the girls. Then I called council discovered they had tents but the tents was locked up at the camp. They was Susan G Korem pink tents. But we couldn't get the tents till Monday and we needed them on Saturday. I was calling on Friday. *if you haven't noticed I waited till the LAST MOMENT*. I called another Girl Scout troop the next town over. She let us borrow 4 Susan G. Korem tents. She said they was easy to put up. Since my troop had NEVER went camping. And some of them was 8th graders (14 yrs old). Some go with parents but not as a troop. We had to leave after the baseball game. We had to collect our camping gear and food from the vans. Then the boy scouts and girl scouts arrived in mass. It was great. We got to watch a movie on the big screen for the baseball game called Sandlot. The scouts played football and played on the giant slide. And the boy scouts and girl scouts played tag. We did have one injury. One cadette sprained her ankle. I took her to the hospital. She did refuse treatment from the boy scouts there. She would take it from her friends. She came back a few hours later.
