Thanks everyone for the comments about my pic. The Koala is special for me to have around
It is not my pet but I was involved in feeding and caring for many of them (mainly babies) after they were involved in a fire.
This paticular Koala's name was Warwick.
Unfortunately he died of kidney problems as a result of the fire.

YES (Youth Education Support) International (www.yes.or.ke) is implementing the Scout Friends Award - an international experience that gives Scouts and non Scouts friends an opportunity for “discovery”, “support service” and “adventure travel” in Kenya and Africa.
The Scout Friends Award has three main components;
Discovery - is an adventure that lasts for several days, organised with a focus on youth education support.
Support Service- is a period of personal commitment to support a project in the field of youth education and especially those orphaned as a result poverty, HIV/AIDs and other killer diseases in Kenya and Africa.
On successful completion of a chosen ‘support service’ period ranging from 1 week to 6 months, a Scout Friend gets the Scout Friends Award showing that s/he is aware of the youth issues (discovery) and has acquired through “support service“ the necessary experience and skills to become a “YES Scouts Friend” (www.yes.or.ke/yes_scouts_friends.htm).
Adventure Travel - is an added opportunity for “YES Scouts Friends” to visit Baden Powell (BP) 2nd home in Kenya (PAXTU) and his Memorial Park (Final Resting Place) in Kenya and other adventurous sites of interest like the famous 7th. Wonder of the World found only at the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya.
YES Scouts Friends can also plan to climb the amazing snow capped Mount Kenya – which is the 2nd highest mountain in Africa situated along the world equator line, do white water rafting, sport fishing, relax at the sandy and warm coast beach hotels, resorts and lodges and time allowing, visit other tourist sites of interest.
YES works with the “orphans (YES Scouts)”, “Scout Friends” and appointed area “Ambassadors” to promote the “Scout Friends Award”.
YES Scouts Ambassadors pray active roles to;
- Reach out to other Scout Friends and Network (www.yes.or.ke/yes_scouts_friends.htm)
- Create awareness about the “Scout Friends Award” programme
- Implement fundraising activities to facilitate “Scout Friends Award” in Kenya
- Do a chosen period of “discovery”, “support service” and “adventure travel” in Kenya & Africa
- Coordinate the Scout Friends Award programme in the area
YES Scouts Friends have over the years been responding either individually or within a group system by organising challenging discovery adventures in Kenya in support of YES Scouts.
Can you be our Scout Friends Ambassador in your area? Through your partnership and support, we can hope to make the “Scout Friends Award” an experience of a life time.
