ربما أمكن تعريف السلام بأنه حالة يخلو فيها العالمُ من الحروب والنزاعات، أو بأنه حالة من الأمن والاستقرار تسود العالم وتتيح التطور والازدهار للجميع. قد يبدو ذلك حلمًا طوباويًّا بعيد المنال؛ إذ لا تخفى حالةُ العالم اليوم على أحد!
