Hello

G'day fellow Scouter friends, I know it's been awhile since I last was here and yet so much has changed. Last night I was at our Gilwel reunion and it was fun, plus I got a bullseye on the dart game, yay! Anyway I am still a Joey Leader of bullcreek leeming scout group, which I still enjoying! I have a video on our website which shows my mob and what they do so check it out, blscouts.org.au! My youngest is now in my mob, which is great! Joeys of Australia are celebrating 21 years! Anyway enough…See More

Hi Fellow Scouters :)

I have an ask of you all. We going to have Harmony Day on the 21st of March and I would like to share a story created by every one or a song with a verse that every one can add on or may be your Scouting promise or we could create our our Scouting For Peace Poem that every one could add a 4 lined sentence and it could rhym or not but be imaginative oh and nice as I would like to read it to my Mob here in Australia.

I do like the poem thing so here is the start........You need to start with the first line!

Harmony Day is when we all hold hands
Say our Scouting promise all as one
It does not matter if you sit or stand
Just as long as we have fun.....

Harmony Day is when.......( you create the rest!)

G'Day Fellow Scouters......I Know It Has Been Awhile Since I Last Spoke To Everyone.......

Since I was last on my page, lots has happened to me and my world around me. I am still a happy Scouter. I have 19 Joey Scouts in My Mob. I have been busy programming and sorting out the parent roster so I can keep going as I am the only Joey Leader in the group at the moment but I have a Rover to come and lend a hand so I hope she wants to help a bit more so fingers crossed. I have finished my… Continue

Natasha Possum,

YES (Youth Education Support) International (www.yes.or.ke) is implementing the Scout Friends Award - an international experience that gives Scouts and non Scouts Friends an opportunity for “discovery”, “support service” and “adventure travel” in Kenya and Africa.

Scout Friends Award has three main components;
 Discovery - is an adventure that lasts for several days, organised with a focus on youth education support.

 Support Service- is a period of personal commitment to support a project in the field of youth education and especially those orphaned as a result poverty, HIV/AIDs and other killer diseases in Kenya and Africa.

On successful completion of a chosen ‘support service’ period ranging from 1 week to 6 months, a Scout Friend gets the Scout Friends Award showing that s/he is aware of the youth issues (discovery) and has acquired through “support service“ the necessary experience and skills to become a “YES Scouts Friend” (www.yes.or.ke/yes_scouts_friends.htm).

 Adventure Travel - is an added opportunity for “YES Scouts Friends” to visit Baden Powell (BP) 2nd home in Kenya (PAXTU) and his Memorial Park (Final Resting Place) in Kenya and other adventurous sites of interest like the famous 7th. Wonder of the World found only at the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya.

YES Scouts Friends can also plan to climb the amazing snow capped Mount Kenya – which is the 2nd. highest mountain in Africa situated along the world equator line, do white water rafting, sport fishing, relax at the sandy and warm coast beach hotels, resorts and lodges and time allowing, visit other tourist sites of interest.

YES works with the “orphans (YES Scouts)”, “Scout Friends” and appointed area “Ambassadors” to promote the “Scout Friends Award”.

YES Scouts Ambassadors play active roles to;
- Reach out to other Scout Friends and Network (www.yes.or.ke/yes_scouts_friends.htm)
- Create awareness about the “Scout Friends Award”
- Implement fundraising activities to facilitate “Scout Friends Award” in Kenya
- Do a chosen period of “discovery”, “support service” and “adventure travel” in Kenya & Africa
- Facilitate registration of the YES… Scout Friends Award as a charity in your country
- Create the YES web-link (www.yes.or.ke) in your website
- Coordinate the Scout Friends Award programme in the area

Scout Friends have over the years been responding either individually or within a group system by organising challenging discovery adventures in Kenya in support of YES Scouts.

Can you be our YES Scouts Ambassador in your area? Through your partnership and support, we can hope to make the “Scout Friends Award” an experience of a life time.

Sign up for our award-winning service.
