How is a Danish summercamp?

We had one last summer for most of the group (we didnt bring the beavers)

Saturday

We got the bus to pick us up in Kirke Hyllinge - which drove to Copenhagen to get more passengars on - and then drove us through Sweden to Ystad - from where we took the ferry to Bornholm

Arriving to Bornholm a rented bus drove us the last trip to Rømeregård.

Arriving where it rained a little - a guided trip around the center with a member from the staff. Raising tents - and getting all the stuff into the tents. Dinner and campfire - around our fire (cooking) place on Rømeregård. One of the scoutpatrols had planned the campfire,

Sonday
Flag up at 8 am. Then breakfast. In the morning working with stones - the older scouts inside grinding stones. The younger ones making figures with stones and glue. After lunch "Krølle Bølle løb" on the center - a orientation run with posts regarding Bornholm. We also had time to make "old mans fire" - so we didnt have to cook on the ground. In the evening mixrun - where you got mixed with scouts from the other groups.

Monday
Flag at 8 AM. Then breakfast. After that the juniorgroup got packed - and away on hike around in Almindingen. The scout and senior group also got packed. - and away on their hike. - their hike was longer - and they where all supposed to get on clim crawling on Hammerknuden, but the scouts got lost, and arrived to late. The seniors got therefore extra tours. The cubs maked bonbons some of the day. Besides they had ½ day off - but maked a kitchentable. In the evening there was bonfire for the whole center - at the bonfireplace. But since juniors and troop was hiking - they didnt participate.

Tuesday.
Flag at 8 AM. Breakfast and away on 1 day hiking with the cubs. At Rokkestenen, Rytterknægten and Ekkodalen, which was the same places the juniors visited on their 2 day hiking. Had lunch with us. Back for dinner, where the juniors and the troop also was back from hiking. Night run between 11 pm and 2 am. 1½ hour pr team, we had the juniors and the scouts/seniors participating.

Wedensday.
Only the cubs at flag 8 AM. After that they cleaned herrings. Juniors and troop up at 9 AM - and then they cleaned herrings. We smoked the herrings after lunch. There was time to "clean" inside the tents after the hikes in the meantime - since the smoking was in smaller groups. They also maked healty sweets - which should take ½ day - but only took an hour. In the evening we had borrowed the center bonfire place - where I was in charge of the bonfire.

Thursday
Indianerday - centerday. Breakfast before Flag, but time for Flag was changed till 8.45 - and then the indianerday started. All there was home at the center participated in being indians - with competitions and indianerbonfire in the evening. Some of the older scouts sleeped in 1 of the tipis, so we took 2 of the tents down.

Friday
Flag at 8 AM. Breakfast - and departure with bus at 9.30. Around on Bornholm. We saw Hammershus - we had hired a guide. It was amazing. We was at Helligdomsklipperne - which many of the scouts also was very thrilled about. We had lunch - and then in Østerlars Rundkirke. Rundkirke means round churches - there is only 5 in Denmark - 4 of them are on Bornholm. Ended at Due Odde beach - where some of the scouts and leaders (myselves included) was in the Baltic see. Back to the center. Arrived at 5.40 pm (only 10 min late) - got pizzas for dinner. Had farewell bonfire - again for the whole center. Some of the scouts wanted to sleep together with another group - under the sky.

Saturday.

Flag at 8 AM. Breakfast - and then cleaning up - and getting ready to travel home. Bus departed at 12.45. Ferry sailed at 2 PM. Back from Ystad to Kirke Hyllinge - with arrival at 5.45 PM.
