ABOUT US

The Airscout Wing of The Scout Association of Nigeria[formally Boys Scouts of Nigeria] was establised in 1978 by Engr. Bright [aBritish engineer working for Nigeria Airways] in Lagos. The primary objectivethen was to cater for the young people in the science and art ofairmanship/aviation trades, discipline and citizenship. However, the airscoutmade its first national appearance at Makurdi in 1987, with the very firstaircrew led by Segun Ige [of the Nigerian Airforce]. Ever since, the air scoutof Nigeria have been soaring higher with the Lagos wing at the helm.

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE LAGOSAIR SCOUT WING MAY BE SUMMARIZED AS:

1. To develop desire andachievements in the aviation industry
2. To create interest of youth in Aviation as an honourable profession
3. To develop character training for producing useful and patriotic citizens
4. To teach the youths informally, aviation methods and practices which theycan apply on their own e.g. Model   Airplane, Predicting the weatheretc.

We are Air Scout of the Lagos State Scout Council.
Air Scouts wear a slightly different uniform from the rest of the Scouting movement and/or may have additional badges/insignia.

Most air activities are ground based like visits to airports and air museums, radio controlled model flight, aero modelling and camping on airfields. also include parachuting or flights in light aircraft, helicopters, gliders or hot air balloon
We are creating our relationship with the Nigeria Airforce, and we would be having a camp here in Nigeria Dated: 4-6 of March, 2011.
The camp is for both leaders and Boys/Girls.
