Scouts for Nobels peace price?
Perhaps a crazy idea - but then - why not?
If the scout organisations got the peace price because of the camps are world wide (like the WSJ) - could it then give a benefit for the countries - to get the scouts involved in peace?

Compared to others who have got the peace price - I think it would be a benefit if we got it - like after the WSJ 2011 - where we have scouts from (almost) all over the world.

Thankyou Ulrik. I beileve that Scouting Worldwide and what its founding principals reflect, is a (light) for the rest of the World to follow. A model of peace. A code for all our nations. With due respect to everyone on this Planet, I have often, again and again found that the people in Scouting because it is SERVICE TO OTHERS, represents higher thinkers of our planet. In fact the world and its problems in a simple honest way can be broken down in two catagories, Service to Self, and Service to Others.

Hi John - I miss a third catagorie - Respect to others - because a lot of the problems (and wars) is because we (the western world) dont respect the other parts of the worlds ways to react.

It is not at all a crazy idea, But we deserved to get the price. More than 100 years scouting remain with the peace activities. All part of the world we can see a plenty of activities. In order to get the price we required a co-ordination for the target ...

How much I would like it to be my idea - it aint. I just saw the group on facebook - and then I meant - that the idea of S4P - also is to talk about peace - which was the reason I posted the idea here (also because - the more people we are - the more people we can get into the facebook group - to send a signal about world peace)

Very nice discussion.
In my opinion it's not crazy idea at all, it's really great. I'm sure that scouting deserves the peace price because Scouting is peace, respect to others, staying in the harmony with nature, knowing more about different countries, cultures, languages. If scouts from many countries get together (as we can see on the jamborees for example), they can cooperate and be friends without any problems, because they don't consider differences as something can disturb - in opposite - differences can union scouts and enrich them in knowledge.
