Welcome to the First International Scout Family

Good advises for travelling around the world... / buenos consejos para viajar por el mundo...

I thought we could give each other a little help about giving advises about what's important to know while visiting our countries.. way of acting, dressing etc...

Pense que podiamos dar algunos consejos uno al otro sobre lo que es importante saber visitando nuestros países.... modo de actuar, vestirse etc...

so..
Sweden / Suecia .. =)

one thing that's important.. do come on time, even better be 5 minutes early.. if you come a few minutes late it's not to your favour...
una cosa que es importante.. llega a la hora correcta, aun mejor ven 5 minutos antes... si vienes algunos minutitos tarde no es a tu favor...

if you say to someone that you will be at a place at a certain hour, you have to be there, if not you have to inform the other person... it's more or less a promise made..
one can't really say, "I'll call you tomorrow" and then never doing so...
si has dicho a alguien que vas a estar en algun lugar en una cierta hora, tienes que estar allí si no hay que informar a la persona.. es mas o menos un compromiso..
no se puede decir "te llamare mañana" y despues nunca lo haras...

well.. that's what I could think of at the moment...
bueno... es lo que me ocurrio por el momento..
=)
That is nice topic Sanja thanks for posting it ,it will be so interesting im sure t know much about other countries
Denmark

Dont be late - better come a little before. (if you arrive with a train - tell which train you come with - so the people wait for you - because trains can be late)

Danes dont say hi to everybody - for foreigns they can seems like they have enough in themselves. Thats not true - but you have to ask for help to get it. If you ask for help - most Danes like to help you.

From a foreigner - I was told - that if you sigh when you sit in the train - many will ask whats wrong. But if you just go in and sit next to another passanger - nobody talks to you - if you dont talk to them.

Dont expect that "wienerbrød" is the same as buying a "Danish" in USA. There is so much more different Wienerbrød than there is "Danish"

Danes eats a lot of pork meat - so if you buy things as a muslim - be aware - that there are things from porks in many items in Denmark. (there are actually more porks than people in Denmark)

Denmark has a lot of history - and likes to tell about our history - even we has been some bastards back in time (Wiking time is an important part of Danish history).

There aint a certain dress - code in Denmark. Its more about where you go - and who you visit. Of course there is a difference - if you join Roskilde Music Festival in mud - or visit the Royal family.

Hope other will participate in here

Ulrik, Denmark
