Baden Powell's Birthday!

the 22nd of febuary is Lord Baden Powell's birthday! and many in our district have partys, camps and special activities to celibrate and i was wondering if other scouters around the world did the same, or even diffrent things to celibrate our founders birthday!

Founder Day, 22nd Feb... It's so Famous Event all over the World My Friend I attend a Scout Song Festival at Poland last Year and It was 14 Years and this Year too it's still working...

Founder Day, World Thinking Day in polish language is - Dzień Myśli Braterskiej.
We will aslo celebrate this the best day in year for every scout and guide. My Group meeting will be about 5 the biggest religions in the world.
This year we will have Festival too, only we will have some later then last year. We started to prepare to this.

Here in Canada we have activities going on for the whole week in which we call Scout Guide week.
From setting up displays in Shopping malls, attending Church Parades, going to sporting events.
For the Month of February we have operation good deed where each Cub & Scout write down their good deed of the day and pass it into our local Scout office for a chance to win prizes.
Most groups will also have a birthday party with cake and refreashments.

In Egypt we have so many celebration for Lord Baden Powell's birthday and we will post some of this event as it will be great if every body in our network to post there photos and way of celebration for this great event .thanks for your post keep up

For the Scouting Centennial and the 150th anniversary of Scouting I and our Scout Shop manager created a special Sesquicentennial Baden-Powell commemorative Crest/Patch. Our founder had a great vision. We had our Baden-Powell Dinner on Tuesday evening. This is a time when all sections of our group get together. We have our reports and present honours and awards that have been bestowed on various members. This annual dinner keeps alive the B-P spirit in our group.

In Guyana, many Leaders and Scouts wear their Uniform to School and Places of Employment. My Scout Group will have a meeting based on the theme of Baden-Powell. We will also visit another Scout Group to have a Quiz on Baden-Powell and History of Scouting and to play Indoor Games.

wow that sounds good! we should do that in the UK, but there are alot of kids and even adults that would poke fun though, what is sad. i wouldnt care if people at college or work poked fun at me but im sure the scouts would be upset by their peers thinking scouting is "stupid or childish".

I had the same feelings before when I was new Aat Scouting but now all my Neighborhood look to me as a normal thing when I wear MY Scout Uniform at the Events or Meetings, I am wearing this from more than 9 years at least once at week ... :) It's about Local community View .

yea my street are used to seeing me off to scouts or explorers or buddling my kit into the car for camping for the last 10 yrs, its jst the rest of the town i wish they would just rialise how fantastic scouting is, most kids in my town spend there time hanging on the streets and outside shops and they have to cheek to poke fun at scouters well if only they knew the fun they miss eh?!
