Celebrating the 100th birthday of the Scout Movement in Austria, a jubilee jamboree will take place on the palace grounds of Laxenburg Castle in August 2010. Join us, meet young people from all over the world and live ten days in a multifaceted city of tents just outside Vienna.
Then ... In the year 1910, the first scout group was founded in Austria and the world’s most successful youth organisation found its place in the heart of Europe.
Now ... there are more than 85.000 boys and girls in 300 scout groups all over Austria. 500.000 guides and scouts have been part of the Austrian scout movement so far – or still are. Because „once a scout, always a scout!“
Beyond ... Through social understanding, a respectful attitude towards other people and their cultures, taking part in the community and living in harmony with nature, children and young adults shall find the way to their inner self.
Then – now – and beyond ... The Jubilee Jamboree 2010 in Laxenburg will be an adventure for scouts from all around the world! Taking advantage of the vicinity to the cosmopolitan city of Vienna, the unique atmosphere of Laxenburg and the beauty of the province of Lower Austria, there will be a multitude of excursions, adventures and other exciting activities.
